EMERGENCY RESOURCES - COPE Groups and County Resources

KNOW YOUR ZONE! Please look up now and store your Zone on your phone or laptop. During evacuations/advisories, it's best to use the Interactive Map to receive additional information on evacuation status, road closures, etc.

CREATE DEFENSIBLE SPACE - HOUSE OUTWARD RISK REDUCTION: The links in the Resources for Defensible Space and Ignition Resistant Structures Document provide essential information about treatments to harden your home and measures to clear fuels in the 0-5 foot zone, the 5-30 foot zone, and the 30-100 foot zone.

DURING AN EMERGENCY

Electric gate, please register your gate and notify the Sheriff’s department of an access code. Fire personnel have a key for the Knox Box which every electric gate should have. Electric gate link: https://www.sonomasheriff.org/gate-code

If you have pets/animals, please take a look at the Halter Project: https://www.halterproject.org/

POWER OUTAGES

Public Safety Power Shutdown LINK PG&E provides information on current or planned outages.  Put in your street address - information will be provided below the address field.  What to do BEFORE power is cut.

ELECTRIC and GAS Safety: Report any unsafe situations to
PG&E
If you see downed power lines or suspect another emergency, leave the area immediately and call 9-1-1. Then, call PG&E at 1-800-743-5000.
Propane and relighting pilot lights- If you choose to do this yourselves, please use extreme caution.
The propane company suppliers recommend to call them and they will assist in relighting your pilot lights (oven/stove, clothes dryer, water heater, etc.).
Contact PG&E for re-igniting your gas - call 1-800-743-5000 to set up an appointment. Remember that PG&E employees always carry identification and will present it to you before entering your property.

Power Outages/ Restoration: If your home does not have gas, visit www.pge.com/returninghome or call PG&E at 1-800-743-5000 for assistance.

AIR QUALITY - WEATHER

To assess air quality during wildfire or emergency conditions, the Northern Sonoma County Air Pollution Control District recommends reviewing websites in the following order.

AirNow.gov - accurate source for available fine Particulate Matter (PM) measurements.  AirNow Current AQI (Air Quality Index and Forecast).
The Air Board's site also provides additional resources to protect your health from wildfire smoke and ash.
● PurpleAir Provides the most cautious health-based numbers with accurate measurements of PM-10 levels, a good indicator of ash concentrations during wildfire conditions.

Weather: Get more information about staying safe during cold weather from the CDC here: https://www.cdc.gov/disasters/winter/duringstorm/indoorsafety.html
